Raising money for a good cause

For those readers in the Manitoba area, there is a charity hockey game at the Selkirk Recreation Complex tonight.  Here are the details:

Sizzlin’ Summer Showdown Hockey game
(hosted by Believe in the Goal Foundation, Inc.)
will be at the Selkirk Recreation Complex tonight

Pre-game activities include live music by the band, Pushing Daisies,
M&M Burgers, Free bouncer fun for the kids, Free Tim Horton coffee and a terrific silent auction that includes autographed player donations.

The warm up begins at 6:25pm, and the puck drops at 7

We had our invitational golf tournament yesterday with all the players, and it was a huge success – we’re ready for hockey now.

Players include Colton Orr, Travis Zajac, Jordin Tootoo, Jonathan Toews, Darren Helm, Nigel Dawes, Derek Meech, Nolan Baumgartner, Andrew Murray, Shaun Heshka, Chet Pickard and others.
Obviously there is a lot of NHL talent going to be at the game, but the main purpose is to raise money for the battle against cancer.  If you aren’t in the Manitoba area and still want to make a donation, here is the website: http://www.believeinthegoal.com/
