We’re talking about practice
John Vogl of the Buffalo News observes that one of the effects of the condensed schedule is teams’ lack of practice time.
Vogl reports that Lindy Ruff would like to have spent Sunday working on Buffalo’s power play, currently on a 3 for 45 slump, but instead had to give the Sabres a day off.
“We haven’t really practiced in a week, and we won’t practice,” Ruff said. “You really can’t. You’ve just got to rest up and be ready to play again.
Buffalo leads the Northeast division with 47 points, but their power-play is 28th in the league at 16.1 percent. They are in the middle of a stretch of 12 games in 21 days.
