Kelsey Tessier of the Quebec Remparts is 5’5 (although some say 5’9), 164 pound winger that is draft eligible for 2008. Currently playing with Angelo Esposito and Mikhail Stefanovich, Tessier has been putting up point per game numbers thus far this year.

While that might not separate him from the pack in the offense first QMJHL, scouts feel Tessier has very good offensive upside and is solid without the puck. Another graduate of the Shattuck-St.Mary’s factory, Tessier was uncertain about where his hockey future would take him. He suited for SSM, then played a year in Colorado and contemplated staying stateside before returning to Canada to play for the Remparts. He credits his time at SSM with convincing him he had a future in professional hockey.

Tessier also feels lucky to be coached by Patrick Roy, whom he says is always ultra-prepared for every game. That preparedness rubs off on the players and gives them the confidence that they can win every game they play. The speedy forward realizes that he will have to add some size to his frame, but feels that his quick acceleration and defensive awareness will allow him to play at the next level.
