Lincoln Stars forward Jimmy Hayes, ranked 63rd amongst North American skaters heading into the NHL Entry Draft, is a prospect of some interest. Obtained by Lincoln via trade, he stepped into the Stars lineup and was a big factor in their push to the USHL conference finals. A big kid (6’5, 210) with good hands, Hayes is hampered a little by his mobility. He gets his large frame up and down the ice, but doesn’t have a quick first step.

That being said, he does have an excellent nose for the net and always seems to be around the puck. He competes hard and seems to possess sound hockey sense. If he can improve his skating, he may be a late round steal.
