The Jets drafted Nelson Nogier in the 4th round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft in Philadelphia.
The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan product played five seasons in the WHL with both the Blades and Rebels. He signed his three-year ELC with the Jets back in 2016 and played his first professional season in 2016-17. He played 60 games for the Manitoba Moose before a decimated Winnipeg backend necessitated the Jets recalling him from the AHL. Unexpectedly he ended up playing 10 games in his rookie season for the Jets.
There was some excitement about the prospect coming into his sophomore year before it all came crashing down in the first shift of the first pre-season game in Grand Forks, North Dakota. After a tremendous amount of work getting back into game shape the prospect defenceman makes his regular season debut tnt in San Antonio. Coach Vincent indicated that he is back “earlier than expected”.
For his season debut Nogier is paired with Moose rookie sensation Sami Niku.
