From TSN:

Sportscentre just reported that Brooks Orpik has re-signed with the Penguins for 6 years and $22.5 million.

Well, no one else was taking the Penguins’ money. Kidding aside, the Penguins need defense more than they need forwards anyhow. This is a solid signing, as Orpik is a rough, stay-at-home defenseman–which is exactly what the Penguins need. His contract isn’t exorbinant and is about what the market is paying.
