On the day honouring Bryan Little, the Winnipeg Jets beat the Penguins 6-3 to remain undefeated (5-0-0)

It was quite a win as the Jets continue to roll along to start the 2024-25 season a perfect 5-0-0 with their 6-3 win over the Penguins. Nice way to honour Bryan Little who signed a one-day contract to retire as a member of the Jets.

Pre-game Bryan Little media availability:

The man of the day was long-time Jets centre Bryan Little who spoke about what this team and city have meant to him.

Notable:

Bryan Little took one final skate in Winnipeg as a member of the Jets having signed a one-day contract.

Nikolaj Ehlers played in his 610th game played for the Jets which moves him past Dustin Byfuglien into sole possession of 7th on the combined (Atl/Wpg) list (Ehlers is 4th on the 2.0 list alone). And Dylan DeMelo played in his 300th game in a Jets uniform.

For the first time since May 1st, 2022 netminder Eric Comrie led the Jets out as he got the start this afternoon.

This was regular season game number 1000 that the Winnipeg Jets 2.0 have played since relocation.

During the 1st period Vlad Namestnikov was recognized for getting his 300th point last game.

With the Jets trailing by a goal in the middle frame Bryan Little had one last chance to thank the fans and folks in Winnipeg responded by giving him a standing O.

“I think I get into it just like any fan” was part of the quote from an answer given by Bryan Little to a question I asked him this afternoon about how he stays connected to this Jets team. And there he was celebrating Adam Lowry’s go-ahead goal which made it a 4-3 game.

It was a very good start by Eric Comrie who looked solid in the net making close to 40 saves in the victory.

Multipoint Game:

Mason Appleton 1G 1A
Nikolaj Ehlers 2A
Josh Morrissey 2A
Colin Miller 2A
