On the Beat: Torres, Gaustad and McCabe all close to returning to line-up

What team beat-writers are saying this afternoon:

• Here is how the Thrashers lined up at practice today. No Bogosian for at least the next two games.
• A couple switches to the forward lines by Scott Gordon on the Island. This team has not looked good to start the season.
• Raffi Torres (shoulder) could make his season debut on Saturday for Columbus.  A nice physical veteran presence.
• Jamie Langenbrunner (charley horse) is out tonight for New Jersey.  Just a day-to-day injury.
• Bryan McCabe (back) hopes to return to the line-up next week.  This defense corps has lots of injuries, so McCabe’s return would certainly help out.
• Tobias Stephan gets the start for the Stars tonight. Turco could use some time away from the net to regroup.
• Paul Gaustad (thumb) is slated to return to the Buffalo line-up tomorrow night. Adds a nice size element to the club.
