On the Beat: The Lines Remain the Same

What team beat writers are saying late this morning:

• The NHL says there is “no Ryan Miller situation.”  Fair enough.
• The Flames are playing better as of late and Mike Babcock has noticed.  The Flames look to make it a very successful road trip with a win tonight in Motown.
• The lines from Blue Jackets practice today can be found here. Top two lines remain the same.
• The Wings line combinations from this morning’s skate can be found here.  For all the talk of new lines, those look like the ones we’ve seen for most of the season.
• Rick Tocchet responds to Melrose’s comments.  Tocchet wasn’t going to sit idly by and take that criticism.
• Both Tom Poti and Alexander Semin could suit up tonight for Washington.  Honestly, how much contradictory information have we read about Semin’s injury?

Update: Joe Sakic out longer than expected.  Tough news for Sakic in what may very well be his last NHL season.
