What team beat writers are saying this afternoon:

  • Justin Williams took a step forward in his rehab today.  He is recovering beyond quickly.
  • Derick Brassard has been taking some on-ice lessons from former Sabres legend Danny Gare. Always nice to see youngsters trying to get better.
  • Guy Carbonneau says he can understand why Montreal fans booed Mark Streit.  I don’t think many people find any fault with Streit leaving.
  • Mike Sullivan has returned to the Lightning as an assitant coachThe weird moves continue in Tampa Bay.  We all know Sullivan is a capable coach but he was working directly with John Tortorella last season.  Also, it seems odd to make a coaching move a week after the Melrose firing, instead of right at that time.
