What beat writers are saying this afternoon:
- Todd Marchant will be out of the Ducks lineup for two weeks with a broken finger. Wait, Todd Marchant is still playing in the NHL? Kidding aside, the team will be able to replace the veteran’s spot with little drop off for the time being.
- It looks like Rich Peverley is going find himself playing alongside Ilya Kovalchuk. Quite a change from being placed on waivers by a team that cannot score more than two goals in a game just a few days ago.
- Check out how many good players aren’t suiting up tonight for the Habs and Bruins. Lots of talent on the sidelines but both teams have terrific depth.
- Patrick Lalime will start for the Sabres tomorrow in Chicago. Lots of road games coming up for Buffalo.
- Doesn’t look like Todd Bertuzzi (hip) will suit up tonight for Calgary. No reason to rush it.
- Don Cherry with some thoughts on the Blue Jackets. Grapes is great.
- Marc-Andre Bergeron (knee) wants to get back into the lineup for the Wild but his coaches say not so fast. They have missed his offense from the back-end.
- Jason Arnott is out tonight for Nashville. All they need is less offense!
- Rick DiPietro’s knee is getting a second look. Not been a fun season for the former first overall pick.
- Is the salary cap in the way of the Flyers bringing Daniel Briere back into the lineup? Insightful work.
