What team beat writers are saying this afternoon:

  • The Bruins have returned Vladimir Sobotka to the AHLJust a numbers move, he will back with the big club on the weekend.
  • Craig Rivet returned to the Sabres line-up last night against New Jersey.  He came back a little earlier than originally anticipated.  Nonetheless, it is only good news for Buffalo.
  • Scott Walker (hand) will return to the Hurricanes’ line-up to play the Maple Leafs tonight.  Will give the Hurricanes a nice boost.
  • The Capitals had new forward lines and defense pairings at practice today.  Chris Clark has been demoted to the fourth line.
  • Is it Steve Mason time in Columbus?  As Porzline points out, it probably is.
  • More injury details on Paul Martin and Brian Rolston.  The Devils need these guys back in their line-up a.s.a.p because they are now without Brodeur for quite a while.
  • Cory Stillman (concussion) could be out for the Panthers’ entire west coast road tripBig loss for the Panthers both in the leadership and offensive production departments.
