On the Beat: Line combinations galore

What team beat writers are saying this afternoon:

  • The Miller brothers face each other tonight in Anaheim, well not really.  Lalime slated to start.
  • Manny Fernandez is feeling better for the Bruins.  They have no goaltending depth issues, so this injury shouldn’t really affect their chances.
  • There are Pronger to Calgary rumors?  As if he isn’t public enemy number one in Edmonton already…
  • Columbus lines from practice today.  This Mason situation is something else.  Give the kid full, full credit.
  • The Devils lines from practice this morning.  Brendan Shanahan is moving on up from the East side.
  • The Rangers lines from practice today.  This team isn’t as good as its record.
  • The Senators can’t make it through the month of February without firing a coach. The coach is the problem again? C’mon, this team needs to be basically torn apart.  Bryan Murray couldn’t get them motivated last year, neither could John Paddock and neither could Craig Harstburg this season.  But apparently the coach is the problem here…
  • The Capitals could be without Chris Clark for the rest of the seasonPlayers like Clark are missed most come playoff time.
