What team beat writers are saying this afternoon:
- Here are the Thrashers lines from practice this morning. Expect Peverley to drop back with Kane and Armstrong.
- Jonas Hiller will start tonight for the Ducks in Boston. Ducks should be motivated after that terrible blown loss in Minnesota.
- Former Leafs prospect Justin Pogge has been sent to the ECHL. Leafs prospects don’t get too much hype or anything….
- Joni Pitkanen was not at Hurricanes practice on Thursday. He still may play tomorrow night.
- Tom Reed likes the Ken Hitchock decision to swap Antoine Vermette and Derick Brassard in the lineup. I agree with Reed. Hitchcock has good timing here and it won’t affect Brassard’s confidence.
- If you want to see a Stars game, it isn’t that expensive. Good on them for making tickets affordable in this economy.
- Brad May has signed with the Wings, and as a result, Justin Abdelkader has been demoted to the AHL. Babcock has always loved Brad May, so now he has his man.
- Paul Mara is a talker and Mike Boone has a good video to prove it. Love this type of stuff.
- Jose Theodore starts in net tonight for the Capitals. The Caps are a Cup contender, but not with Theodore in net.
- It looks like exhibition sensation Sergei Shirokov is being sent to the AHL. He could use the time to adjust to the North American game.
