What team beat writers are saying this afternoon:
- Our buddy Dave Staples reports that Jaromir Jagr could be on his way to the Oilers. Wow. Is this for real???? This would be a huge move for Edmonton! Jagr and Hemsky together would be tough to stop and this would put the team as a favorite for the 5th or 6th spot in the Western Conference. Never mind the fact that they’d be the team that the top seeds want to avoid in the first round. All that said, I believe Jagr would have to clear waivers. So it may depend on term and salary here…
- The injury details for Michael Ryder are out and he is slated to be out of the lineup for 2-3 weeks. He had been slumping as of late, but Ryder has been a solid performer for the Bruins this season.
- Some new lines at Sabres practice today. Roy skating between MacArthur and Pominville.
- Rod Brind’Amour says he’s ready to return to the Hurricanes lineup. He’s had a tough year but he’s still a welcome addition to the Canes lineup.
- Columbus lines from the morning skate. Jakub Voracek expected to return to the lineup.
- Sean Avery has been sent to Hartford of the AHL. He should be great for the Whalers!
- Notes from Devils practice. Martin Brodeur wants back in bad.
