What team beat writers are saying this afternoon:

  • It appears the Thrashers don’t want to mess with a good thing, as John Anderson will keep tonight’s roster the same as it was in the team’s win over Ottawa on Tuesday.  They will need Pavelec to stand on his head.
  • The Bruins are expecting Marco Sturm back in the line-up tonight versus Boston.  Lots of depth in Boston, and Sturm will add a nice speed element upon his return.
  • Paul Maurice and Pete DeBoer are good buddiesShould be a fun game tonight.
  • Jason Chimera has been placed on IR because of a groin problem.  Important player for the Jackets, so they have to hope it isn’t overly serious.
  • The Stars get Stephane Robidas, Joel Lundqvist and Steve Ott back in the line-up tonightThis team is starting to get healthy and improve its play, so maybe this group can salvage the season after that awful start.
  • Empty Netters previews tonight’s Penguins/Thrashers game.  Informative.
  • Gary Roberts is going to retire at season’s endWhere will he be traded at the deadline?
  • Simeon Varlamov starts tonight for Washington.  Was very solid in his NHL debut.
