On the Beat: Coyotes drama heightens

What team beat writers are saying this afternoon:

  • If you want to watch the U.S. Olympic orientation camp, it will be open to the publicGreat move by USA Hockey.  The more people interested in this team and the Olympic Games, the better.
  • Speaking of the Olympics, Alexei Kovalev is back in the good graces of Team Russia–at least for now.  The Russian brass had concerns about his skating, but obviously that is not as much of an issue this time around.
  • Team Slovakia’s pre- Olympic camp roster was also announced today.  This is not a team to take lightly.  Lots of offensive talent on this squad.
  • This Coyotes saga is getting messy, as Dave Shoalts of the Globe & Mail explains.  Could this saga have become any worse for the NHL?  Honestly, this is getting really, really messy.
