• Curtis Zupke of the Orange County Register with another Q & A, this time with former Panthers defenseman Steve Montador.  Good series by the OCR.
  • Steve Mason has had a setback in his return from a knee injury.  Pascal Leclaire is number one in Columbus so Jackets fans don’t have anything to worry about.
  • Fedor Fedorov has shaken off the criticism from coach Brent Sutter at practice.  Surprise, surprise, Fedorov isn’t getting along with Brent Sutter!
  • Scott Gordon has impressed the veterans at Islanders camp.  Really like this hire for the Islanders now and for the future.
  • Jarkko Ruutu was brought to the Senators to add grit and he sure did just that last night in New York. He is going to add the sandpaper that this team so desperately needs.
  • The Coyotes already have their top-four defense pretty much set in stone.  This team lost Ballard and Boynton so it will be interesting to see how well the replacements (Hale, Sauer) are able to compensate for those two significant losses.
  • Kyle McLaren is an unhappy camper at Sharks camp.  The Sharks will be looking to peddle him if the right taker comes along.
