On Manitoba Moose night the alumni lead the Winnipeg Jets to a 6-3 win over the Predators

On a night dedicated to their AHL club the alumni of the Manitoba Moose lead Winnipeg to a victory over the Predators as the Jets pick up their third straight win. They improve to 7-4-2 on the season which ties them with Colorado (who have two games in hand) for top spot in the Central.

For those who would like to take a deeper dive into the advanced stats click here to see the results from the game via Natural Stat Trick.

Notable:

Mason Appleton now has 4 goals in 13 games for the Jets. He had 5 in 41 games last season. The emergence of 22 is real and it’s spectacular. Seems appropriate it was Moose night given the 2015 6th rounder was the AHL rookie of the Year back in 2017-18.

Nice feature by the organization as four lucky fans got these jerseys off the backs of Moose captain Jimmy Oligny, C.J. Suess, Brad Lambert and Chaz Lucius handed over their Manitoba uniforms (and then signed them).

Goal of the Year candidate by Kyle Connor with his second of the game.

Kyle Connor had 2 goals in first 13 games last season and would go on to score 31. He already has 11 goals in 13 games this year and is on pace for 69 this season.

Connor has now passed Bryan Little for 4th place on the all-time goals list with his 218th (he also got 219th and 220th). Worth noting that’s a combined Jets/Thrashers record (for Little obviously). Connor is alone in 3rd place on the Jets 2.0 list. He’s 35 back of Blake Wheeler in 2nd.

Mark Scheifele by virtue of his four helpers (so far) this game has 11A in 13 games for the Jets. On pace for close to 70. Last season he had 26 in 81. His career high is 50 in 2016-17. Does he eclipse it this season and set a new career high?

Back to back games for Cole Perfetti with a goal as he gets to three on the season. Pace of 18 on the season for the 2020 first rounder. To quote NBA Jam “he’s heating up”.

One thought I had watching the game: Does Nino Niederreiter’s engine ever shut down? He’s constantly buzzing in every zone.

Brenden Dillon having himself a season: 3G in 13 games this season. 2G in 82 last year. On pace for 18. His career high is 6 in 2013-14.

That was the fifth hat trick for Kyle Connor in his career.

Laurent Brossoit got his first win of the season.

Multi Point Game:

Kyle Connor 4G 1A
Mark Scheifele 4A
Alex Iafallo 2A
Dylan DeMelo 2A
