Not every fan at the ACC is going home unhappy this season

A friend of Illegal Curve, who is a former Winnipegger currently working as an investment banker in Toronto (yes, some of them are still working!) emailed us last night to pass on the following anecdote:

“I was at the ACC for the game with a bunch of clients.  Obviously I was wearing my Jets gear and cheering for Teemu and the Ducks.  When Selanne scored in the shoot-out, the place went absolutely silent, I screamed as loud as I could, and everyone in our section of the arena immediately turned their heads and stared at me.”

So in other words, Jets fans have something to cheer for 12 years after the team left, while Leaf fans have been silent since ’67.

For Illegal Curve, I’m Joey Swithmick.
