No Games Tonight – Recap of the 2008 Stanley Cup Finals

As there are no games tonight and all indicators are pointing to a Red Wings and Penguins Stanley Cup Finals perhaps a look back to see what we can look forward to.

Game 1: Red Wings win 4-0.

Game 2: Red Wings win 2-0.

Game 3: Penguins win 3-2.

Game 4: Red Wings win 2-1.

Game 5: Penguins win 4-3 in 3OT.

Game 6: Red Wings win 3-2 and win the Stanley Cup.

Red Wings Celebration

Now I predicted the Red Wings would be facing the Hurricanes in a re-match of the 2002 Stanley Cup Finals but it appears that it will be a re-match of the 2008 Stanley Cup Finals.  The parallels to the 80’s Oilers/Islanders back to back series seems very apt and I would be concerned if I was anyone facing the Pens as the fire in Crosby’s eyes is scary.

So will the Red Wings face the Penguins or do the Hawks and Hurricanes still have life?
