Nightly Wrap-Around

  • Rhett Warrener and Anders Eriksson were placed on waivers today and while their teammates realize it is a business, that doesn’t mean there isn’t a human side to these decisions.  Warrener and Eriksson are both very well liked by their teammates.
  • Looks like Kris Versteeg and Jack Skille will make the Blackhawks out of camp.  The young Hawks will be a fast team this season.
  • The Kings have sent down Teddy Purcell and Kevin Westgarth to the AHL. They are probably the two top call ups for L.A. should an injury occur.  For one, Battle of California doesn’t understand the Purcell decision.
  • The keys to the Vancouver Canucks’ season from Orland Kurtenblog.  I think the key to the Canucks’ season will be the performance of the Taylor Pyatt-Pavol Demitra-Mason Raymond line.
