Nightly Hockey Hits: Former GM says Heatley trade mistake for San Jose, Vince Vaughn thinks the Hawks are the money baby, Top 20 enigma’s in the NHL.

Word from across the blogs:

  • The Hockey News:  Trading for Heatley a mistake by San Jose.  The former Lightning GM doesn’t mince words over this one.  A very interesting article.
  • Puck Daddy:  Video of Vince Vaughn meets the Blackhawks.  He’s still money baby.  Love that scene from Swingers when Roenick took down Gretzky.
  • The Hockey Writers:  The top 20 enigma’s in the NHL.  What a fall it has been for Arnason, who recently cleared waivers for the Rangers
  • NHL Fanhouse:  Filatov driven to be a star.  This kid is dynamic and should be a joy to watch.  Should make everyone in Columbus happy to hear that he has no interest in the KHL.
  • Brodeur is a Fraud:  Don’t always believe your lying eyes.  While I am aware of the expression “numbers don’t lie”, they can still be used deceptively
  • Simply Senational:  Best license plates.  Looks like the folks surrounding D.C. love them some Caps as they show off the love on their cars.
  • From the Rink:  The trouble with Gretzky.  The Great One is continuing to take the heat as he has pulled a Harry Houdini and vanished from the desert.
  • Defending Big D:  Ten year later, Dallas Stars Cup victory still festers in Buffalo.  I was indifferent as to who won the series but this will go down as one of the best Stanley Cup games I’ve ever watched.  Once OT hit 10-15 of us put a few dollars in the middle and picked who we thought would score the game winner.
  • T.O. Blog:  Top 10 reasons the Leafs did well in landing Phil Kessel.  Boston fans are not going to like #5, as the boys in Bean town are now being labeled the Devils of Northeast division.
  • He Score, He Shoot:  And Burke said “Let there be goals”.  Funny post but true enough that the Leafs are ahead of schedule and fans and bloggers alike are getting excited.
  • Maple Leafs Hot Stove:  Kessel wrap up.  Some very good points.
  • Raw Charge:  Is so much ice time so early a good thing for Victor Hedman?  A very good read as to whose responsibility it is to monitor his time on the ice.
  • Lighthouse Hockey:  Time to talk Lighthouse Project.  Paints a very clear picture of what is happening over on Long Island.
  • Hockeyjackass:  Ridiculous suspension no. 1.  I’m not against standing up for your teammate, but the only thing i’d point out is that the guy’s coming off for a change was an Islanders defencmen and Morency is a forward.
  • Puck Daddy:  A chat with Evgeni Malkin.  Seems like a good kid.  A very interesting interview.
