Nightly Hockey Hits: A Little Person with Big Dreams; the complete list of Oilers’ prospects; abuse of referees; a new name at World Junior camp

  • A ten year old from the Dundas, Ontario area dreams of becoming an NHL goaltender, despite his physical limitation. The IC staff looks forward to seeing you play young fella.
  • The Lowetide blog has an excellent recap of his recent series on the top 20 prospects in the Oilers’ system. Give this a read if you are into prospects. Excellent stuff here
  • An interesting story in the Montreal Gazette about the abuse that referees take while working in the minor league system. Tough gig for some of these young refs. I have heard first hand accounts of death threats, and trust me, these kids aren’t in it for the money.
  • Because its been a while, check out the Top Ten trivia from Psycho Lady Hockey. Very funny piece, with pictures.
  • In case you didn’t see the story on TSN, Wild prospect Tyler Cuma is headed to camp with Team Canada Jr. to replace the injured Patrick Wiercioch. I saw him at Wild camp this summer, and he is a steady defender who moves well. Very good choice.
