He scored 14 goals in 61 games last season and could score 20-plus with more ice time, so restricted free agent winger Nigel Dawes and the Rangers have agreed to a one-year deal.

Dawes is never the biggest skater on the ice, but he is a good skater, doesn’t shy away from the physical play and has solid hands. He should get a chance at more ice-time next season, and will most likely set career-highs in all statistical categories.
