Backstrom was seen walking with a pretty pronounced limp later in the day and he didn’t skate this morning. McPhee also said it’s unclear whether the first line center will be ready for the start of camp, which begins next Saturday. With the season still a month away, the team is going to take a cautious approach, McPhee said.
