From Tarik El-Bashir of the Washington Post:

Nicklas Backstrom, who has been nursing a sprained right ankle since last Thursday, skated on his own for about 10 minutes this afternoon and looked pretty good to me.

I also noticed Backstrom and Alex Ovechkin joking around before Backstrom went onto the ice. At one point, the two of them jumped up in the air for a chest bump. Something tells me Backstrom wouldn’t have done that if he was still hurting.

Read the entire entry here.

Good to hear if you are a Caps fan.  It does not seem like the injury is serious at all and Backstrom should be able to take part in camp prior to the season opener.
