NHL Morning Papers (Wednesday Edition)

Here are the morning papers for Wednesday the 10th of September:

• Wild assistant GM Tom Lynn is scheduled to meet today with Marian Gaborik’s agent in Los Angeles.  It looks like the Wild are offering around $8.5 million per season.
• Senators new head coach Craig Hartsburg wants to ingrain a certain type of character into his new team, writes Ken Warren of the Ottawa Citizen.  Meanwhile, Senators youngster Jesse Winchester is going to get a good opportunity to crack one of the team’s scoring lines in training camp.
• The Leafs are excited about their young talent heading into training camp, writes Mike Zeisberger.  Mike Van Ryn had some trouble getting his horses over the border, no, really.  In other news, the Leafs have hired Corey Hirsch to coach their goaltenders.  As well, Tom Watt has returned to the fold.
• J.P. Barry and Mike Gillis have plans for dinner on Wednesday night to discuss the Sedin’s contract situation.
• Apparently Brendan Shanahan’s agent is talking with Glen Sather, writes Andrew Gross of the Bergen Record.  Shanahan wants to make it clear that his decision is not about money.
• As John Vogl of the Buffalo News explains, everyone comes to camp in shape these days.
• The Hurricanes are on the cusp of re-signing Eric Staal who apparently is looking bigger and stronger than ever.
• Nikita Filatov has finally arrived in Columbus, writes Aaron Portzline.
• Chicago is Chris Chelios’ home town, but right now his heart is in Detroit.
• The Panthers have signed Keith Ballard to a six-year contract, as he now joins the other young Panthers who have signed long-term contracts.
• The NHL wants an arbitrator to decide the Alexander Radulov contract fiasco, reports Jessica Hopp of the Tennessean.
• Sean Avery’s internship with Vogue is apparently going to serve as the idea behind a new movie.
• Paul Kariya wants to rebound from a poor second half last season, explains Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
• It is true, the Lightning has expressed an interest in Mats Sundin’s services.
• Oilers assistant coach Kelly Buchberger thinks Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers was the best goalie in the AHL last season.
