NHL Morning Papers (Monday Edition): Rangers need to decide on Nikolai Zherdev, no one wants Maxim Afinogenov and the Flyers comment on NHL’s investigation
John Glennon of the Tenneassean previews the highly competitive Central Division for 2009/10.
Nikolai Zherdev was awarded a one-year, $3.9 million contract by arbitrator Elliot Shiftman, but there is lots speculation that the Rangers will not accept that ruling and will allow Zherdev to become an unrestricted free agent.
If Zherdev does hit the market, John Glennon doesn’t expect him to land in Nashville.
