  • Islanders youngster Frans Nielsen took an elbow to the face last night and now we learn that he will be out of the line-up for 2-3 months.  It was a dirty play and now Nielsen is on the sidelines for a long time. Broken record: The NHL needs to get serious about head shots.
  • The Canucks won today but they lost Roberto Luongo to a groin injury.  Canucks fans are holding their breath.
  • More on the Claude Lemieux comeback from Eric Duhatschek.  An AHL tryout eh? Maybe this is actually for real?
  • The Panthers have waived Wade Belak.  You have to wonder if another move is coming.
  • Lightning netminder Mike Smith is day-to-day with a lower body injury.  Not a serious injury.
