Just two days ago, defenceman Neal Pionk was on the ice with his teammates for the first time in a yellow, non-contact jersey. After the skate, head coach Scott Arniel said Pionk would join the team on its road trip and was nearing a return, though he stopped short of promising the Minnesotan would play during the three-game swing through Boston, New York, and Pittsburgh.
Today, at morning skate at TD Garden in Boston, Pionk was back in a regular jersey, according to Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press.

Following the skate, Arniel provided this update on number 4:
“He’s going hard today. He’ll go hard tomorrow. Then he could be a possibility.”
Based on that timeline, it seems likely Pionk could return either Saturday in Pittsburgh or Sunday in New York.
Before departing Winnipeg for St. Louis the Jets hit the ice for a skate.
