Moose start slowly but pick up a 4-3 win over the Canucks as they continue to roll to kick off road trip

The Moose left Manitoba on a hot streak going 6-1-1-0 during the eight games they played in Winnipeg. They’d start their seven-game road trip in Abbotsford which has been inhospitable to them on occasion.

Missing from the game at forward were Kristian Reichel (day-to-day as per voice of the Moose Daniel Fink) and Dominic Toninato (he & wife had a baby). Wyatt Bongiovanni returns after missing the last game & newly signed Zack Andrusiak was set to make his Moose debut. Simon Lundmark and captain Jimmy Oligny in on defence while Tyrel Bauer and Dean Stewart were out.

Moose found themselves down 2-0 rather quickly to the Canucks. Two goals on three shots. First goal was with Holm screened (his D chose to ignore man in front). Second one he appeared to see it but was beat clean. Shots were 3-0 with under 5 played in 1st.

The visitors fought their way back into the game. First it was Jeff Malott who got his 18th cut the Manitoba deficit in half. And then 40 seconds later 2020 2nd rounder Daniel Torgersson ripped home his 8th of the season tied the game.

After having themselves a good middle frame leading scorer Alex Limoges tapped home his 14th of the season to give the Moose a one goal lead heading into the final frame.

Less than two minutes after the Moose gave up the tying goal in the 3rd, Jeff Malott using that big body in front of the Canucks net puts home what would prove to be the game-winning goal. His second of the game and 19th of the season.

Manitoba kicks off their seven-game road trip with a big 4-3 win over the Canucks. They are 9-1-0-1 in their last 11 games. It improves them to 31-17-3-3 and moves them one point back of 2nd place Milwaukee (and two back of 1st place Texas).

Arvid Holm picks up the win after giving up 2G on first 3 Canucks shots and then 1G on next 20 shots. He also got his second assist of the season. He’s 15-8-3 with 2.69GAA and .912 save%.

Jansen Harkins matches his career high for points in the AHL for third time with the three assists he got tonight getting him to 31 points.
