Notable:
The Manitoba Moose always hit a home run in their support of St Amant MB. This is their Autism Acceptance game. These jersey were worn in the game and then will be auctioned off. Looks even better on the ice.
If you were looking for a good start that is just what Manitoba did outshooting Abbotsford 15-0 at the midpoint of the 1st period.
A bad pass out of the Moose zone led to a penalty which led to the Canucks opening the scoring. Moose had a 22-6 shot edge but found themselves down one.
In the end the Moose fired 23 shots in the 1st period on Spencer Martin but he was up to the task.
Ville Heinola took a puck or stick to the face so he was slow to get off & no D man was quick to jump in to replace him. Resulted in the Canucks attacking 5 on 4 & scoring to make it 2-0 for the visitors. They were being outshot 25-9 but they led where it counts.
In a reverse from the opening period it was the Canucks who outshoot the Moose by a 18-4 shot count and Oskari Salminen had to be sharp to keep his team in it.
The Moose needed something to break their way in the final frame and they got it courtesy of this play which saw Daniel Torgersson, in front of visiting friends and family from Sweden, score his 10th goal of the year.
Make it four straight regulation losses for the Moose as the Canucks take it 2-1. They drop to 34-23-5-4 on the season and don’t get any closer to clinching a playoff spot.
