Moose put forth another complete team effort in 7-3 game 4 win

The Moose started the last game off slowly but five straight goals meant they would live to see game 4 which went tonight in Winnipeg.

Lineup news:

No changes for Manitoba. The Admirals had a pair of additions for the game 4 in goalie Connor Ingram and third leading scorer Rocco Grimaldi.

Moose lineup:

Malott-Suess-Poganski
Barron-Gustafsson-Eyssimont
Polei-Maier-Jones
Lynch-Hutchinson-Johnson

Samberg-Kovacevic
Chisholm-Gawanke
Heinola-Oligny

Berdin
Holm

Noteworthy:

The Moose got off to a good start holding a 4-0 shot edge right out of the gate which they eventually turned into the first goal of the game courtesy of Morgan Barron who has been a beast so far.

Unfortunately for Manitoba a brain fart by Mikhail Berdin gave the Admirals some life when passed it right onto a Milwaukee player’s stick and who buried it past him to tie the game.

Five minutes later captain Jimmy Oligny activated along the wall and then fed it over to Evan Polei who helped Manitoba regain the lead.

If you didn’t pay attention to the Moose you wouldn’t realize how critical the Polei/Jones/Maier line is. On the 9th shot to start the period 2nd for Manitoba (to the 1 they’ve given up) they score courtesy of a Nicholas Jones tip to make it 3-2. Second primary assist for captain Jimmy Oligny.

Ville Heinola with a rocket upstairs as the Moose add some insurance in the middle frame as he makes it 4-2. Great goal and a great screen by David Gustafsson in front of Ingram.

I am not sure anyone walks the line better than Declan Chisholm. Great screen in front by the lunch pail line. 5-2 for the Moose.

Another great 2nd period for Manitoba who outscore Milwaukee 3-0 and outshoot them 18-7 which meant they had a 5-2 lead heading into the 3rd.

After they gave up a goal to bring the Admirals within two with 11:22 left in the final frame the Moose couldn’t afford to sit back.

They were able to add another insurance marker as Mikey Eyssimont made it 6-3 for Manitoba. The assists went to Morgan Barron and Ville Heinola who each had three points this game.

A great stretch pass by Dylan Samberg and then it was a carbon copy from game 3 as Lynch found Luke Johnson to make it 7-3 for the Moose.

Kinda crazy to think that the Moose and Admirals will play for the 17th and final time this season on Sunday.
