Moose mount second straight three-goal comeback, top IceHogs 3–2 behind Milic’s stellar play in net

The Moose left Texas with a 3–2 win to get back on track after climbing out of a two-goal hole to take their first lead in the third period last game. If they were hoping for an easier night in Rockford, they didn’t get it — it was déjà vu for Manitoba, who once again found themselves down by two before storming back for another 3–2 victory.

Lineup news:

Only one lineup change with recently recalled Kevin Conley coming in for Chase Yoder who was injured in the last game. Notable also that nobody was recalled to Jets on D which could mean Haydn Fleury (upper-body injury) is ok or Dylan Samberg is ready to go.

Moose lineup:

Di Giuseppe – Yager – Fagemo
Barlow – Zhilkin – JAD
Shaw – Gustafsson – Duehr
Empey – Conley –Wagner

Heinola – Clague
Phillips – Salomonsson
Sautner – Anhorn

Milic

Notable:

The game got off to an inauspicious start for the visitor as Marcel Marcel gave the home team a 1-0 lead as he got behind all three Manitoba players and then deposited his own rebound into the net after Thomas Milic made the initial save.

Just two minutes later more suspect D by the Moose sets up this odd man rush for the Icehogs which they finish to give them a 2-0 lead.

They had a chance to add to their lead shortly thereafter but this time Thomas Milic makes the stop for Manitoba which would prove important in a subsequent power play a couple of minutes later.

A fantastic no-look pass from Jets prospect Brayden Yager, who somehow finds Samuel Fagemo to bring the Moose within one. That’s his third goal of the season. Yager’s up to 2G, 5A (7 PTS) in 13 games this season.

Huge save by Jets goalie prospect Thomas Milic to keep his team within one. Nice help by another Winnipeg prospect as Danny Zhilkin impeded the shot.

That would prove valuable as former Icehog Isaak Phillips tied the game against his old team with a shorthand goal with 11 seconds left in the 2nd.

Good time for Ville Heinola to score his first goal of the season as he gives the Moose their first lead of the game. Second straight game that Manitoba has taken a 3rd period lead. Nice screen by Kevin Conley and good work by Tyson Empey to get 14 the puck.

“A diving save by Thomas Milic! Are you kidding me”. Moose play-by-play voice Daniel Fink could not believe it after another huge save by Jets goalie prospect Thomas Milic. Kept his team ahead by one.

Moose overcome slow start which saw them in a two goal deficit for second straight game before they scored three straight to win it 3-2. Jets goalie prospect Thomas Milic brilliant in the win. With the victory Manitoba improves to 5-6-2-0.

Multi-point game:
