Moose get revenge with 4-1 win over Monsters in afternoon re-match

(1) Recap

After losing to Cleveland in their home opener on Friday night, the Moose renewed acquaintances with the Monsters on Sunday afternoon. In the first period, Buddy Robinson sprang Jansen Harkins on a breakaway – Harkins made a quick deke and fired just over the pad, blocker side for the game’s opening goal.

In the second, Eric Comrie made an incredible save, going from right to left to rob a Monster with his left pad. But just minutes later, he let in a squeeker on the short side which knotted the game at 1. With the Moose on the powerplay in the second, Jack Roslovic fired a shot from the slot – Chase De Leo picked it up and fed a beautiful, blind, behind-the-back pass to Kyle Connor, who put it in the empty net.

Early in the third, on yet another Moose PP, Michael Spacek one-timed a Sami Niku pass, and Brendan Lemieux picked up the rebound, moved it to his backhand and found the back of the net. Finally, with 2 minutes left, and the Monsters’ net empty, Brendan Lemieux came in on a fast break, and after being hooked from behind, was awarded the goal to ice the game at 4-1 Moose.
