The Moose were looking to end the pre-Christmas portion of the schedule with a victory over the IceHogs as they look to arrest their two-game slide with a split of this two-game set.
Recall news:
Before the game the team announced that they had recalled Foxwarren’s Dawson Barteaux up from ECHL after Ethan Frisch left the game yesterday.
Lineup news:
Jets prospect Colby Barlow back after missing a couple of weeks due to a LBI. Elias Salomonsson is presumably still dealing with illness.
Lines & D pairs mixed up as well.
Moose lineup:
Di Giuseppe – Yager – Fagemo
Shaw – Gustafsson- Duehr
Barlow – Lambert – Chibrikov
JAD– Zhilkin – Ford
Phillips – Bauer
Heinola – Clague
Anhorn – Barteaux
DiVincentiis
Notable:
Not an ideal start for the Moose who give up a goal for the second straight game in the opening 30 seconds of the contest.
Samuel Fagemo was brought into the organization in to provide some offence and he rips this shot home to tie the game 1-1. Tied him for the Moose team lead in goals as well with his 9th.
Jets prospect Colby Barlow came this close to scoring in his first game back since injury which costs him two weeks.
Back-to-back games with a goal for David Gustafsson as he goes to the net and puts this rebound into the back of it. His sixth of the season gives the Moose a 2-1 lead. This would turn out to be the game-winning goal.
He chucks knuckles and now he’s bringing the offence as Tyrel Bauer deposits a sweet dish by Isaak Phillips into the net for his first of the season. Makes it a 3-1 game for Manitoba. That’s his first tally since April 6th, 2024.
Don’t know how this gets called as roughing and I’m pretty sure the mystified look of Danny Zhilkin shows he think the same. Simply looks like the Jets prospect makes a nice play almost resulting in a steal. I guess the call could be slashing but that’s not how it’s listed.
Jaret Anderson-Dolan sealed the deal with an empty netter.
Goalie Domenic DiVincentiis makes 26 saves on 27 shots for the victory.
The Moose head into the Christmas break with a 4-1 win over their division rival IceHogs. A good bounce back game for Manitoba to end a two-game slide. They end with a 15-11-2-0 record siting tied for 2nd in Central.
Multi-point game:
