Notable:
Check out the jerseys the Manitoba Moose were wearing tonight to honour Canadian Forces Base Winnipeg’s 100th anniversary.
The Moose, thanks to their netminder, survived an opening period which saw them get outshot 11-3.
Which was good news for the home side as they came alive in the middle frame.
The captain Mason Shaw made it a 1-0 game with his fourth goal of the season.
Moose really came to life in the middle frame as they held a 10-2 shot edge and a 2-0 lead as Jaret Anderson-Dolan deposits this bank shot(pass?) by the captain. That’s JAD’s third goal of season as he’s got 1G 5A in his last seven games.
Jets prospect Brad Lambert with the chip shot goal on the Moose 5 on 3 to make it 3-0 for the Moose. That’s his first since joining Manitoba.
Samuel Fagemo ripped this one home to make it 4-0 as the Moose continued to capitalize on the power play in the middle frame.
What a 2nd period by Manitoba in Winnipeg as they score four times in the middle frame and outshoot the Senators 21-4.
After giving up their only goal early in the 3rd the home team got it back. Hilarious shoulder shrug by Samuel Fagemo who got his second of the game (6th of season) off a very fortunate bounce. Tyrel Bauer got his first point of the season with the primary assist. Made it 5-1 for the Moose.
Speaking of Bauer he somewhat spoke this win into existence this morning when discussing the jerseys they’d be wearing to honour the military saying “We’re gonna wear those jerseys tonight with ultimate pride and get them a win”. They did indeed.
With the win Manitoba back into a tie for 2nd in the Central (although they’ve played more games than the teams around them) improving to 10-7-2-0.
Multi-point game:
Samuel Fagemo 2G
Mason Shaw 1G 1A
David Gustafsson 2A
