Moose conclude the regular season with a dominating 6-0 win over the Canucks

The Moose were coming into the season finale this afternoon feeling good with their game as they defeated the Canucks 7-1 in the last game. The only question heading into the game was whether they would continue to rest guys ahead of the playoffs. We learned as of last night that they will be facing the Admirals in the Central Division Semifinals.

Lineup changes:

Coming out of lineup is CJ Suess and Evan Polei as well as Dean Stewart on the backend. Coming in will be Haralds Egle, Kristian Vesalainen as well as Simon Lundmark.

Moose lineup:

Malott – Bongiovanni – Eyssimont
Egle – Maier – Jones
Lynch – Hutchinson – Johnson
Vesalainen – Nikkanen – Torgersson

Heinola – Kovacevic
Chisholm – Gawanke
Oligny –  Lundmark

Berdin
Cormier

Notable:

It was either a sellout today or just shy and the Moose decided to get things off to a quick start with Haralds Egle scoring off good work from Cole Maier and Nicholas Jones.

Moose captain Jimmy Oligny wasn’t happy after rookie Wyatt Bongiovanni got jumped in front of the Canucks net and punched while on the ground for extra measure. Manitoba made them pay with this Mikey Eyssimont goal on the subsequent power play.

No shocker that the duo of Maier and Jones just are continuously making things happen for their team. Maier sealed the wall and puts it in front for Jones and the Alberta product scored his 12th of the season to make it 3-0 for Manitoba.

Mikey Eyssimont scores his second of the game (17th of season) to make it 4-0 for Manitoba on this rocket upstairs.

Now because Jet Woo is from Winnipeg perhaps those were folks saying ‘Woo’ and no ‘boo’ but Mikhail Berdin makes the stop on his penalty shot attempt.

The home team didn’t take foot off the gas and Mikey Eyssimont picked up a hat trick (first one since 2019).

Kristian Vesalainen wanted in on the action as he found himself all alone shorthanded and made no mistake to make it 6-0 for the Moose.

Moose win big as they defeat the Canucks by a final score of 6-0 in the regular season finale. It was a combined 13-1 victory for Manitoba in the two games played to end the season. Good way for the Moose to head into the playoffs (with more support on way).
