Moose cannot build on momentum and lose final game of six-game homestand to the Admirals 5-1

The Moose are in the basement of the Central but having won three of their last four they were getting a little closer to teams like the Wild and IceHogs who sit ahead of them in the Central. But so far this homestand they’ve split the two previous series but today they had a chance to take both against the Admirals.

Lineup news:

Leading goal scorer Parker Ford wasn’t available as per play-by-play voice Daniel Fink. In his place the team recalled Carson Golder from the ECHL.

Lines & D pairs:

Shaw– Toninato –Lambert
Suess – King – Wagner
AJF – JAD – Golder
Liwiski – Zhilkin – Empey

Sautner – Salomonsson
Phillips – Coghlan
Lundmark – Bauer

DiVincentiis

Notable:

Over 7000 in attendance celebrated the lone goal for Manitoba by Jaret Anderson-Dolan. Really heads up slap pass to JAD by Dylan Coghlan who is on a five-game points streak (5G 4A). Isaak Phillips draws the other assist. Moose dropped the final game of the six-game homestand.

Multi-point game:

None.

Health updates:

After the game today Moose head coach Mark Morrison was asked if there was an update on Parker Ford:

“Not yet. I think he needs to see the doctors tomorrow and then we’ll go from there.”

You can see him get hit into the boards in his last shift in the game on Sunday.

Also he was asked if there was an update on Chaz Lucius:

“No update”.

Seems likely they’ll be without both players for the road trip.

Up next:

The Moose are hitting the road tomorrow as they head east to play six games in eastern Canada starting in Laval.
