Milwaukee Admirals pick up 4-3 win over Manitoba Moose as they secure 17th straight victory

The Moose were looking to overcome a really tough Admirals team that had won 16 straight games including game 16 which saw them shut out Manitoba 4-0 on Saturday.

Lineup news:

Moose swapping in Wyatt Bongiovanni, and Danny Zhilkin who join C.J. Suess on a line. Out comes Nicholas Jones & Henri Nikkanen. On D Dean Stewart in, Tyrel Bauer out.

Moose lineup:

Malott – Lambert – AJF
Toninato – Gustafsson – Chibrikov
Viel – Reichel – Ford
Bongiovanni – Zhilkin – Suess

Capobianco – Barteaux
Heinola – Lundmark
Sautner – Stewart

Dellia
Millic

Notable:

Second straight game between the Moose and Admirals that the Philadelphia Flyers have had a scout here in Winnipeg. Usually I’m not making note of scouts since they are at every game but this seems notable as it’s been a different scout at each game. Of course they could be scouting the Preds farm club as well.

Super Hero game intro. Moose staff did a great job on this.

That was an interesting icing call.

Kyle Capobianco was recognized on the Jumbotron for playing in his 200th AHL game.

Just 21 seconds after giving up the opening goal of the game Parker Ford fires this shot home to tie it 1-1. That’s his ninth goal of the season.

Nikita Chibrikov got taken out with this knee on knee. But he returned during the subsequent five-minute major.

David Gustafsson to AJF to Simon Lundmark to the back of the målvaktsnät

Ville Heinola feeling the impact of this shot off the leg. He was trying to get to the bench when puck came back as he was recovering but Collin Delia had his back and makes a big stop. Took a quick shift his next time out on the ice. Will monitor.

On and off the stick for Kristian Reichel as he gives the Moose a 3-2 lead early in the 2nd. That’s his 11th goal of the season which is quite a bit given his drought to start the year.

Close to 7700 fans at the Moose game in Winnipeg react to the news that Sean Monahan has a hat trick for the Jets in Calgary.

Collin Delia shut the door (twice) for the Moose as he makes two big stops early in the 3rd to keep this game tied.

Admirals took a 4-3 lead after Dean Stewart blows a tire but the home team is having a lengthy discussion about it with the refs. It was reviewed but determined to be a good goal.

Moose fans doing a reverse curse wave down by one with the goalie pulled. Didn’t work.

The Admirals hold on to win 4-3 as they pick up their 17th straight victory. They remain unbeaten in 2024 which is just remarkable. Moose very uninspiring conclusion to that game as they showed very little battle to try to tie the game with goalie pulled.
