It has to have been quite a remarkable few days for Winnipegger Christopher Haley who likely had the night of his life on Saturday night when Patrik Laine rocked the St. Louis Blues for five goals making Haley a millionaire overnight. While twitter had a lot of fun as to who this mystery man was it wasn’t until last night at the Jets game when he was introduced to fans. Turns out his first Jets game was a memorable one. He was interviewed during the pre-game show on Jets TV, then during the game at a commercial time out he was introduced live to the 15,000+ inside Bell MTS Place and following the game got a chance to meet the man responsible for this windfall.
However it appears we have shortchanged Christopher Haley. He won 1 million (paid out as $50,000.00 per year for 20 years) for the five goals. However, you don’t just jump ahead to the final prize apparently with this contest. Because Laine scored three goals he also won a $1,000.00 Safeway Sobey’s gift card and the four goals got him $100,000.00 cash. So Christopher Haley is the Million Dollar Man+.
Some people go to Disneyland, some buy a new vehicle but it appears Christopher Haley will buy himself and his wife a new set of glasses:
I suspect there has likely been a steady influx of shoppers at Safeway and Sobey’s since Saturday.
