Manitoba Moose winger Kristian Reichel is having surgery and is done for the season

With Kristian Reichel you get a player who never takes a shift off. The Czech product has had his most productive season this year as a pro setting career highs for games played (61), assists (15) and points (24). He also played two more games with the Jets up in the NHL which brought his career total with Winnipeg to 15.

When the Moose kicked off their final regular season road trip in Texas back on April 11th just ten seconds into the game he had an unfortunate fall which saw him take air and land awkwardly on his back/shoulder.

Last week we reported that the news wasn’t good about Reichel and his health. Head coach Mark Morrison advised that “the organization has to make a decision whether he continues to play or not this season”.

Today the team confirmed to me that Reichel was set to have surgery in the coming days and that he is done for the season.

Tough news for the hard-working winger.
