Another three familiar faces returning for the 2022-23 Manitoba Moose season. Forward Isaac Johnson will be back on a one-year deal. Johnson is a familiar face to Winnipeg Ice fans as he spent his final season in the junior with the local WHL club of Winnipeg before turning pro. He started in the Southern Professional Hockey League in 2020-21 and then made the jump to the ECHL/AHL last season splitting time between the Growlers and the Moose.
Netminder Evan Cormier & winger Thomas Caron actually signed two-year deals last season but they weren’t announced so this isn’t a “signing” as much as it is informing they are back.
Cormier was a Devils 4th rounder from 2016 who had an excellent season in the ECHL for the Growlers (17-7-2) and was equally good for the Moose (8-3-3). Had he not been hurt before playoffs he could have very easily gotten a start or two.
Caron is a physical player who completed his first season as a pro in 2021-22 playing 40 games for Manitoba (3G 3A).
