Manitoba Moose sign goalie Garrett Bartus to a professional tryout agreement

I thought the Moose may have planned to call up prospect Jamie Phillips from the ECHL who is currently with the Tulsa Oilers.  He will head to Glenn Fallls, NY for the ECHL All-Star game and the Moose have instead signed Garrett Bartus to a professional tryout agreement.

Moose Release:

The Manitoba Moose Hockey Club announced today the team has signed goaltender Garrett Bartus to a professional tryout agreement.

Bartus, 27, has appeared in 14 games with the Fort Wayne Komets (ECHL) this season. The St. Charles, IL native has a 9-3-1 record supported by a 2.47 GAA and 0.909 SV% and one shutout. In 47 career ECHL games, Bartus holds a 21-15-7 record with a 3.07 GAA and 0.902 SV%. Prior to his professional career, Bartus spent four seasons at the University of Connecticut.
