If the name Logan Neaton sounds familiar to Jets fans that’s because it should as the Michigan goaltending product was a 5th round selection of Winnipeg back in 2019. He signed with Manitoba on a PTO for training camp as he looks to get his pro career started now that his college career has concluded at Miami (Ohio) University. With the Moose still expecting another goalie from a Jets cut (Eric Comrie or Kaapo Kahkonen) as well as having Thomas Milic and Domenic DiVincentiis they needed to make some room.
Neaton will be heading to Norfolk to start in the ECHL and he will likely soon be joined by DiVincentiis, who is also turning pro this season and is expected to get the Thomas Milic development path beginning with the Admirals in Virginia.
The other netminder that was released was Braden Holt who will be staying in Winnipeg but heading to the University of Manitoba to play for the Bisons. The Big Sky, Montana product spent his junior career in the WHL playing for the Victoria Royals and the Everett Silvertips.
That leaves the Moose with 32 players:
G (3): Thomas Milic, Domenic DiVincentiis and Matthew Thiessen*.
D (12): Carson Musser*, Dawson Barteaux, Ashton Sautner, Ben Zloty, Josh McDougall*, Graham Sward*, Dylan Anhorn, Andrew McLean* & Darick Louis-Jean, Simon Lundmark, Dmitry Kuzmin & Tyrel Bauer
F (17): Kevin Conley, Ben King, Chaz Lucius, Danny Zhilkin, Tyson Empey, Parker Ford, C.J. Suess, Ryan Chyzowski, Henri Nikkanen, Daniel Torgersson, Carson Golder, Mark Liwiski, Sang Hoon Shin*, Sean Montgomery*, Axel Jonsson-Fjallby, Mason Shaw and Dominic Toninato.
* in camp on a PTO.
