Manitoba Moose reassign Jets goalie prospect Thomas Milic to the Norfolk Admirals

It’s been a busy eight days of work for Jets 2023 5th rounder Thomas Milic as the goaltender was recalled back on November 12th to the Moose with Collin Delia dealing with a sore groin.

Milic backed up Oskari Salminen but would get his first taste of AHL action when the veteran goalie was pulled in the 2nd period of the game the Sunday before last. He made 11 saves on 11 shots in the 17:41 of the middle frame and then made nine saves on the 11 shots he faced in the 3rd.

The next day he’d get his first AHL start in front of 7000+ fans at the Project 11 School Day game. He made 26 stops on 31 shots as the Moose just didn’t have much doing in the second game of their series with the Rocket.

The team left for their six-game road trip on Wednesday and Milic found himself getting his second straight start of the week on Friday night in Belleville. It would be a milestone night as it looked like he was on his way to both his first win in the AHL and his first shutout until a late flurry saw the Senators score once on the power play and once with a 6 on 5.  Milic finished this game with a .929 save% stopping 26 of 28 shots and got his first win as an AHL netminder.

However his busy week was not over as Collin Delia, making his first appearance since November 4th would play just 8:25 of this game after he gave up three goals on five shots. Of note the team didn’t help out their netminder much with less than stellar commitment to team defence. Milic would play the remaining 51:13 of this game giving up four goals on 21 shots.

Delia played the next game in Toronto and backstopped his club to the win with Milic as his backup.

Today the Moose announced that Milic had been reassigned to the Norfolk Admirals of the ECHL.
