The Moose are coming off back-to-back regulation losses to the Laval Rocket including a disappointing 6-3 defeat last night.
Practice notes:
Everyone was present and accounted for except for Jansen Harkins. Given the schedule during this stretch the plan was for the team to hold a quick skate which they held to around 30 minutes to flush the system and get them ready for tomorrow. The energy level seemed high as did the engagement of the players.
Health update:
The team had a trio of regulars in day-to-day land including leading scorer Alex Limoges, Evan Polei and Wyatt Bongiovanni. There was some thought on Tuesday that the entire trio would be ready to return for the game on Thursday but coach Mark Morrison indicated he expected Limoges and Poleiback but not Bongiovanni quite yet.
Pro Debut:
As we detailed on Tuesday newly signed Parker Ford made his pro debut after signing a two-year ELC with the Jets and an ATO with the Moose for the remainder of the 2022-23 season. He made a nice impression scoring his first goal as a pro. Today when asked about the debut head coach Mark Morrison indicated:
“I thought he was good for being put in. Like he got here and he had no idea he was going to go in the lineup, we were short so we threw him right in, he hadn’t played in ten days. He had a pre-game skate there and he got thrown right in. He’s got to learn systems and stuff. He grasped everything really well. I thought he was positionally great and I thought he skated pretty good and he scored a goal, so what the hell he played great I guess!”.
