When long-time Moose assistant coach Eric Dubois left Manitoba after nine seasons on the bench it created a vacancy which the AHL club of Manitoba filled today when they announced they have hired Bob Nardella to fill that role.
Fans of the original IHL Moose will remember Nardella as a left shot defenceman who played for their rival Wolves for a number of years. After he stopped playing pro he turned to coaching in 2012-13 with Chicago joining them as a skills coach. In 2017-18 he was solely an assistant coach for the Wolves before getting the head coaching gig in 2023-24.
The Illinois product has won the Calder Cup as both a player and assistant coach.
