Manitoba Moose got loose at the Assiniboine Park Zoo

For the fifth year in a row the Moose were out among the paying customers at the Assiniboine Park Zoo as the players met, signed autographs and took pictures with the many fans who came out to meet members of the AHL squad.

Senior Director of Hockey & Business Operations Brad Andrews presented the Zoo with a cheque for $4,507.41 which were the proceeds from the sale of the Polar Bear jerseys the team wore last season during a game.

Prospect Luke Green having a laugh with a young Moose fan.

Moose goalie Mikhail Berdin aka the Birdman meets an admirer.

Even Moose players like Jansen Harkins and Kristian Vesalainen are impressed by the polar bears.

Logan Stanley is a big boy at 6’7″ but compared to a fully grown male polar bear, who could stand 10 feet on their hind legs, he’s just a little guy.  Probably best there is a thick pane of glass between the two.

Getting to work on the business of signing autographs.

Players couldn’t help but be impressed by the size and power of these polar bears.

Plenty of young fans (and even some older ones) had a great time getting to meet some of the players that they normally watch from high above.

All photos (with exception of the cheque presentation) were taken by our photographer Colby Spence.  Be sure to check out his work.
